CBC Teacher Appreciation Night 2026
May 27 | Rivertown Fields
A Special Evening Celebrating Our Educators
On May 27, CBC families, players, coaches, and community members came together at Rivertown Fields for one of our favorite traditions of the year—Teacher Appreciation Night.
The evening was dedicated to recognizing the incredible teachers who invest in our players every day, helping shape not only better students, but better teammates, leaders, and young people.
From the opening ceremony to the final out, it was a night filled with gratitude, community, and appreciation for the educators who make a lasting impact both inside and outside the classroom.
Honoring Outstanding Educators
We were honored to welcome two exceptional educators as part of this year’s celebration.

🎤 Veronica Fuata
National Anthem Performer
Veronica Fuata delivered a beautiful performance of the National Anthem to open the evening. Her passion for education and dedication to students continue to make a difference throughout our community.
A standout both in the classroom and on stage, she serves as a teacher at Cunningham Creek Elementary and was named Teacher of the Year in 2022.

⚾ L’Erin Standley
Ceremonial First Pitch
L’Erin Standley, 2025 Teacher of the Year at Hickory Creek Elementary, threw out the ceremonial first pitch and was recognized for her outstanding contributions to education. Her commitment to students and leadership within our schools embody everything Teacher Appreciation Night represents.
In her sixth year as a lead teacher and with the district since 2017, L’Erin has made a lasting impact not only in education but also in the community. She was recognized as Rookie Teacher of the Year (2021) and has continued to lead with excellence, including launching a Best Buddies chapter at her school.
Her dedication to students and leadership both in and out of the classroom make her an incredible representative of what this night is all about.
Thank You, Curiosity 2 Create
A special thank you goes to Curiosity 2 Create, whose generous sponsorship helped make this event possible.
Their support allowed CBC to provide complimentary concessions for teachers and create a memorable evening dedicated to recognizing the educators who serve our community every day. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and commitment to supporting local families.

More Than Baseball
Teacher Appreciation Night serves as a reminder that the lessons learned away from the field are just as important as those learned on it.
The encouragement, guidance, patience, and leadership provided by teachers help shape the character of our athletes long before they step onto a baseball field. We are proud to take a night each year to recognize those contributions and say thank you.
