One of Creeks Baseball Club’s most successful programs for our older players is the CBC UNDERCLASS Program. Spearheaded by CBC Coach Darren Lester (also a Creekside High School Baseball Coach), players who are highly-motivated and still looking to develop their skills have the opportunity to participate in the CBC UNDERCLASS Program which culminates at the Slumpbuster Tournament in Omaha, Nebraska this summer during the College World Series. This once in a lifetime opportunity provides 14U baseball players a unique chance to play against some exceptional teams across the country while also making lifelong memories off the field.
During the summer of 2023, Coach Lester and CBC Coach Josh Barrs, took a group of rising freshmen to Omaha for the Slumpbuster tournament. The team battled their way to the finals where they fought hard through the last inning, returning home finalists of the Slumpbuster Tournament. “It was the highlight of my son’s travel baseball experience,” shared Tammy Watson, “the experience he gained playing against teams from across the country and the experiences he shared with the team members throughout the season were priceless. I’m thankful to CBC for allowing him the opportunity to participate in such an awesome program!”
CBC’s UNDERCLASS Program fills a need for Northeast Florida players who understand the value of continuing tournament play without overshooting and overpaying for unnecessary showcase programs at this age. The program is for high caliber, highly motivated players seeking to continue their development mentally and physically in preparation for pursuing their dreams of playing at the highest level possible. The program will incorporate conditioning, fundamentals, practices, and exposing the players to the showcase type experience/tournaments. The program is one continuous season lasting from October through July. The tournament schedule will consist of 6-10 tournaments over the entire season with no more than three in the fall and no more than seven in the spring/summer. Our objective of the CBC Underclass program is to provide a unique and memorable opportunity while continuing the development and growth of fundamentals and knowledge of the game of baseball both physically and mentally.
